Hello and welcome! This is the first update of many for The Present — Day Moon Year.
Thank you so much for leading the way and being the first to pledge!
Congratulations, pledging for one of these clocks means that you will no longer have to spend the rest of your life seeing time from a single, short term point of view. You may not understand what a relief that is yet so I will be relieved for you, phew!

What are your updates like?
My updates are a way for you to not only understand how your timepiece will be brought to life, they also delve into the meaning behind this work and its relevance to the world.
What are you feeling right now?
I am so happy that you are joining me on what has already been a multi-year journey into the nature of time. I have faith that we will surpass our goal and in the current state of the planet, that's a heartwarming thing of beauty honestly. One of my favorite things is the international scale of Kickstarter. On my last project, backers from 42 countries helped me bring the Day to life so I hope this project resonates globally as well.
What is this update about?
The main things I want to share with you in this update are
(1) I completed the voiceover for the project video andhope you to take second look.
(2) Simply want you to know how special the songs in the video are to me.

It means A LOT to me that you backed this project back when the project video had no Voice Over. Creating a Voice Over for this video has been one of the most challenging and rewarding creative experiences of my life. I could not seem to shake the pressure that project and video was launched without a voiceover. I've put everything into the video and wrote, rewrote, recorded, re-recorded, edited and re-edited this video to the moon and back.
I can now say with confidence that it’s the best example of what this is project is all about. I do hope you take a second look, at your leisure of course. Would love to read in the comments what you think about the addition of the VO and this final cut.
To celebrate completing the video, I will be sending out a link to my personal list of friends and acquaintances tomorrow. If you see the new video and think, "Hey you know what, my friend is going flip out over this!" This song is a beaming example of the value of time.

You see, I’ve been working with Julio Monterrey, the composer who created the track, on hundreds of videos since 2005. The song you are hearing is the culmination of our creative journey together across those fifteen years. Inside this song I can hear conversations we’ve had over the years transformed into musical notes and harmony. It’s one of my favorite things in the world right now and it is such a pleasure to be able to share it with you.
It's okay if you don't like it, I just want you to know that it’s something precious to me. The creativity and excitement of this song bodes well for the project itself. The song is actually a reimagining of the original song from my first Kickstarter project from back in October of 2011, ThePresent.
ThePresent? Why no space?
In a future update I will go into more detail about the odyssey of clarifying how The Present should be presented to the world. Quickly, on that note, can you believe this logo!?
It was created by the freakishly talented and driven artist, Jonathan Harris. Here is a meditative video I made about one of his works of art almost ten years ago.
